The 2003–2006 Vibe was available in an economical base trim, an AWD mid-trim, and the more powerful GT sport trim. Its twin, the Toyota Matrix, was in production for another three years for the American market and four years for the Canadian market, as the Matrix was manufactured by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada in Cambridge, Ontario and was unaffected by NUMMI closing down operation. Production of the Vibe ended in 2009 with the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand and the closing of NUMMI under the General Motors Chapter 11 reorganization. The Voltz did not sell well in Japan and was discontinued after two model years. Manufactured by the Toyota-GM joint venture NUMMI in Fremont, California, the Vibe succeeded the Chevrolet Prizm in production at NUMMI and like the Prizm, it was derived from the Toyota Corolla, making it the last of the GM and Toyota developed S-body cars.įrom 2002 to 2004, a rebadged right-hand drive variant of the Vibe was exported as the Toyota Voltz to the Japanese domestic market. It was jointly developed by General Motors along with Toyota, which manufactured the mechanically similar Toyota Matrix. The Pontiac Vibe is a compact car that was sold by Pontiac from 2002 to 2010. Toyota Corolla Cross (first generation-Crossover look, same Corolla-based) If you buy from this dealer just be prepared on what the vehicle might look like or in this case smell like too.United States: Fremont, California ( NUMMI)įront-engine, front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive In my opinion the salesman is a typical sneaky salesman and by the posting it seems like the owner might be the same way. Knowing how much he lied about the vehicle upfront just made me wonder what else was wrong with the vehicle mechanically. He said it's used so this is what you get. This was a 2016 vehicle so all the problems it had didn't just seem like wear an tear but he acted like I was an idiot an that I should of known that the vehicle was going to look like that. I talked to the salesman that I talked with on the phone and all he had to say was it was all wear an tear an thar I was being to picky. There was also somthing sticky all over the carpet in the back. The driver side sear had a huge hole in the side of it where it looked like it got cut out and not just from wear. ![]() The inside of the vehicle smelled like it had mold in it there was pieces missing from the overhead storage compartment. The lower Part of the bumper was disconnected and it had been hit before cause it was spider cracked all over. I over looked the outside of the vehicle and there was rust all over the edge of the hood about 2 inches up, and they just painted over it. Well I was fooled I went there to look at the vehicle and the posting said it had remote start but when I got the key there was no fob to do the remote start, so I asked if there was a key fob that went with the vehicle and he said no but he could program one to unlock the car. I told the guy I was going to have to drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get there and to please be honest about its condition. I was skeptical by the posting because it said the exact same thing. I called the dealer about a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing and the salesman led me to believe that the vehicle was in excellent condition inside and out. ![]() *LOW MILEAGE* THIS AWD 2005 PONTIAC VIBE IS IN GOOD CONDITION IN AND OUT!
